A LIFE OF STRIFE

Poem of the day for April 3 by Bob Phillips

A LIIFE OF STRIFE BY BOB PHILLIPS

I have written many poems all about my life
And how its been so very full of strife
It started at my birth for sure
When I was born 2 months premature
I had a HUGE head that was all full of water
But my fragile body WAS a lot shorter
I only weighed a couple pounds
And kept the nurses very busy on their appointed rounds
But here I am as of today
A walking miracle is what they say
They are just amazed at what I can do
And I still have a very high IQ
I was valedictorian of my high school class
And with flying colors I did pass
And went on to a very successful career
But now I must say my retirement is near
I will not do things that are trite
I’ll spend my time to write and write
And hopefully lots will like my book
And won’t think that I’m a crook
