I have owned two classic cars for over 30 years-a 1978 Caprice Classic and a 1980 Malibu which have been parked in front of my house for years. They are legally registered and insured to me. Hardly a week goes by that someone does not knock on my door who wants to buy them, especially the 1980 Malibu I have seen these cars on line fully restored selling for up to $7000. I would be willing to sell the Malibu for that price once restoration is complete. However, I get offers of as little as $300
Lately the Audubon Police have marked these cars as abandoned and placed a red abandoned sticker on the cars and asked they be removed from the street. The cars ARE NOT ABANDONED. Audubon MUST file a certification under oath that the cars meet the legal guidelines for being abandoned but nevertheless, I have removed them to my driveway. Nevertheless I found a white car, parked out front of my house-NJ tag #611FRU designed to prevent me from parking in front of my house.
What I despise, having worked in law enforcement for over 45 years is the games that the Audubon, NJ Police seem willing to play. I am interested in knowing if anyone on line has had similar experiences, not only w/the Audubon, NJ police, but ANY police Department over the issue of “so called” abandoned cars. Please post it here. Something MUST be done about this. NO ONE likes being abused by the Police Department. Thanks God that the internet allows people to share these experiences to reduce such abuse by Police Departments who somehow think they are above the law. Please contact me at HandwritingExpert@Comcast.net or call me at 856-520-0271 so that we can formulate a plan to see thiis is not repeated.
